Bamboo Cicada: Traditional Toy
Bring a traditional bamboo noisemaker to life on your screen. Drag the rod with your finger, gently move a supported device, or switch to Auto. Watch the bamboo cylinder swing on its string and hear its distinctive WAH sound. Bamboo Cicada turns a simple folk toy into a playful moment in your day.
• Choose touch, motion on supported devices, or automatic play. • Start in a hand-drawn bamboo grove under moonlight. The scene collection also includes sunny fields, willow trees, rain-washed eaves, and an evening tidal shore. • Explore three toy designs and four scene companions: a dragonfly, butterfly, swallow, and seagull.
Choose 3, 5, 15, or 25 minutes, or set a duration from 1 to 180 minutes. Pause, resume, or cancel your timer. On iPhone and iPad, widgets also let you check and control it. Reminder sounds depend on silent mode, Focus, notification permissions, and system settings.
Adjust the pitch, tempo, and number of repeats in the sound studio, then listen to the result. Saved custom sounds can be used for new timer reminders.
Basic play, the hand-drawn view, Moonlit Bamboo Grove, the original bamboo design, the dragonfly, the basic timer, and the default reminder sound are free. Adjusting and previewing sounds is also free. A one-time Lifetime Unlock in-app purchase unlocks the other scenes, designs and companions, the 3D view and AR on compatible devices. It also lets you save and use custom reminder sounds. AR requires an ARKit-compatible device and camera permission. You can also play on Apple Watch using the Digital Crown and wrist movements, and pause whenever you like. No rush. Just a little spin and a little joy.
